Chronic Living started off as a simple idea to want to help people in the same situation I've found myself in. That's to say, having had my life turned upside down by ME. While at university studying Design with Management studies in York, I was officially diagnosed with ME.
I was diagnosed with the illness after having had symptoms for a number of years but eventually taking its hold after having suffered with Glandular Fever (Mononucleosis).
I was unable to maintain my studies and part time work and found myself in slump for a number of months. At my worst, I was bed ridden for weeks and months at a time suffering from depression and wondering what I could make from my life.
Web design was something I could study through the open university from the comfort of my bed. The internet has been a great life line to me and I want to use it to reach as many people as I can.
Chronic Living is different to the other ME sites out there. It will provide only a little medical information, as I will leave that to those better qualified to expand upon. Chronic Living will tackle the difficult issues faced when living with the illness day to day. This will range from difficulties faced with emotions, relationships, careers, hopes, dreams. The content belongs to those who will visit it.
